Both classes will be offered at a different location and we are thankful for the opportunity to help more people get the training that they need to carry safely in public. In today’s edition of “what’s in this bill?” I will be focusing on another piece of garbage legislation. HB 2543 modifies the transfer process. Currently under law if the OSP doesn’t complete the background check in 3 business days because the transferee is held up in the background check process, a FFL can release the firearm pending an approval. In the infinite wisdom of those that write legislation for our representatives, HB 2543 would give OSP the ability to delay the transfer and sets out no clear parameters for how indefinite the delay could be. This potentially could cause those that are delayed for any reason a violation of their due process rights. This bill is designed to further entangle law abiding citizens in a maze of policy and law changes. This will further restrict the rights of law abiding Oregon gun owners and will do nothing to penalize criminals. Get involved! Thank you @firearmsinsider for the help with information.

On today’s edition of “what’s in this Bill?”
I will be covering the ghastly SB 396. This devilishly bad bill dives into the mythical realm of “ghost guns.” The way the bill is laid out we are all lucky to still be alive. This bill makes possession of commonly owned and lawfully bought firearms or parts. Custom building firearms to our specs is common place, a cost saving measure, and really fun. This is a hobby for many law abiding gun owners. This bill would make possession of a unserialized firearm or receiver a felony with a maximum of 5 years in prison and a $125,000 fine. For real!! Anyone caught manufacturing their OWN or transferring a “ghost gun” to another person would face 10 years in prison plus a $250,000 fine. They way they are describing ghost guns, they talk about 3D printing and how these types of firearm cannot be detected by metal detectors. This is completely FALSE. There’s been no CDC data or FBI data proving the problem that they are imagining it to be. Guns cannot be completely undetectable, this is a myth. Once again this will NOT do anything to punish criminals but has the potential to turn hobbyists into felons. The icing on the cake is how this bill was introduced at the request of our attorney general Ellen Rosenblum, which means this language comes directly from the anti gun shills with Everytown. Another prime example of an agenda aimed to harass lawful gun owners. Please watch this one!!
