We are happy to announce a few new classes. We will now be offering Couples Firearm Training and Men’s Firearm Training. Both classes will be offered at a different location and we are thankful for the opportunity to help more people get the training that they need to carry safely in public. In today’s edition of “what’s in this bill?” I will be focusing on another piece of garbage legislation. HB 2543 modifies the transfer process. Currently under law if the OSP doesn’t complete the background check in 3 business days because the transferee is held up in the background check process, a FFL can release the firearm pending an approval. In the infinite wisdom of those that write legislation for our representatives, HB 2543 would give OSP the ability to delay the transfer and sets out no clear parameters for how indefinite the delay could be. This potentially could cause those that are delayed for any reason a violation of their due process rights. This bill is designed to further entangle law abiding citizens in a maze of policy and law changes. This will further restrict the rights of law abiding Oregon gun owners and will do nothing to penalize criminals. Get involved! Thank you @firearmsinsider for the help with information.
